April 2, 2024, Calgary, Alta. – Classic Fire + Life Safety, a Canadian leader in the fire and life safety industry, announces today the integration of Legacy Fire Protection into its brand and the restructuring of its Western Canada leadership team. The companies announced their partnership 12 months ago and have since worked closely to determine the best way forward to achieve their goal of becoming Canada’s premier national fire and life safety company.

The announcement also includes the appointments of Matthew Neil as Director of Operations and Adam Shackleton as Director of Sales & Business Development for Western Canada. Carl Pollard, previously president of Legacy, continues in his role as Vice President, Western Canada to oversee growth and strategic partnerships in the region. Technicians, fitters, and office staff will maintain their roles and functions through the integration.

We’ve had the chance to get to know each other over the past year and see the benefits of working as one team,” says Francois Godin, CEO, Classic Fire + Life Safety. “United in our mission to protect businesses from fire and accidents, we are even more optimistic about our collective future.”

The decision to unite under the Classic Fire + Life Safety banner was made after collaboration with employees and senior management teams of both companies, and follows the successful integration of Integrated Fire Protection in April, 2023.

When my dad founded Legacy, his vision was to create an organization that would endure across generations for the benefit of employees and customers – a place where legacies were nurtured and built through hard work,” says Carl Pollard, who took the helm of his father’s business in 2015. “Now under the Classic FLS banner, we can continue living out our commitment to delivering value and earning the trust of our clients. We’re happy to have found a partner like Classic that values people, relationships, and customer service excellence.” Carl Pollard, previously president of Legacy, continues in his role as Vice President, Western Canada

Legacy Fire Protection Inc. was established by David Pollard in 2006 as an automatic sprinkler company, with a focus on delivering solutions to customers in the Calgary area for both new construction and renovations.

We are privileged to work alongside such outstanding team members and industry leaders,” concludes Godin."

In April 2023, Legacy Fire Protection, Photon Electrical and Integrated Fire Protection joined Classic Fire + Life Safety as part of the group’s expansion into the Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan markets. Since 2020, Classic Fire + Life Safety has partnered with a total of 11 companies in its quest to ensure the safety of its clients’ properties and workforce.
