Classic Fire + Life Safety was born out of a merger between Classic Fire Protection and FCFP in November 2021. Before the merger, the Ottawa branch had been in business for seven years under the FCFP banner. Today, a few months shy of its first-year anniversary under their new name and new leadership, the branch has grown drastically, having begun in a rental storage locker to now employing a team of ten and a full branch location.
“The Ottawa branch is looking to hire more professionals in our sprinkler and fire alarm departments, two sections of our business that are growing steadily,” says Trevor Brownrigg, Ottawa Service Manager, Classic Fire + Life Safety.
Since the merger, the branch has become full-service with the addition of fire alarm products and services. The group also has more to offer, including a full-time fire pump repair service.
Sales and business development is a key focus for the branch as it seeks opportunities to service new clients in fire protection within the National Capital Region. The team shares a deep-rooted belief that service excellence is integral, and that fostering and maintaining good relationships with clients is key. The branch’s customer base currently includes Costco, Giant Tiger, and malls.
“Communication and word-of-mouth among our network of customers and partners in the region is a good way to attract new clients,” says Brownrigg. “We want to ensure people know Classic Fire + Life Safety is in town and is ready to offer the best fire protection services around.”
Other Classic FLS branches and headquarters, as well as colleagues spread across other markets are extremely supportive.
“The success of everyone is inextricably tied to my performance today, right now,” says Michel Grenon, Account Manager at Classic Life FLS, who is focusing on growing their customer base in Ottawa. “We’re all in this together and are excited to see what lies ahead for our company in Ottawa, Ontario and beyond.”
