The installation of the fire protection systems is in full swing and we are looking to add to our team of fire protection professionals for this FLAGSHIP project.

Classic's scope of work consists of the installation of all fire suppression systems including new wet, dry, and pre-action cabinets, foam systems, and standpipe systems, as well as a new fire pump, fire extinguishers, and cabinets.

We are looking to expand our team of Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices to install the cutting-edge sprinkler and fire suppression systems.

We will be installing 445,935 square feet of fire protection with over 4,500 sprinkler heads.

The building is designated a "post-disaster" building.  We are working 48 hour weeks [4 tens and an 8]. 

We believe there will be substantial "spin off" work to be done as these types of large-scale projects tend to impact the businesses in the area.

PAVH FACTS

  • PCL Construction is the General Contractor who won the project
  • The total value of the construction contract is $898 million
  • Construction activities began in May 2024 beginning with the new acute care tower.
  • The design includes a heliport on the roof, expanded emergency department, larger operating rooms and day surgery, pediatrics, maternity, enhanced medical imaging including northern Saskatchewan's first MRI, lab services, a new adult mental health unit and intensive care unit.
  • The new multi-story acute care tower will increase overall capacity at Victoria Hospital approximately 40 per cent, from 173 to 242 inpatient beds, with room within the overall facility to expand up to an additional 40 beds
