Ottawa/Calgary, December 8, 2025 – Classic Fire+ Life Safety, through its Ottawa and Calgary branches, helped to throw some 2,000 cute and cuddly plush teddy bears – onto centre ice. The tosses were part of the Ottawa 67’s and the Calgary Hitmen’s annual Teddy Bear Toss charitable initiative, which took place yesterday at The Arena at TD Place and Scotiabank Saddledome, respectively in Ottawa and Calgary.

“We’re proud to join Canadian hockey fans in a holiday tradition that brings joy to so many kids,” says Chris Reynolds, Director of Marketing at Classic Fire +Life Safety. “Giving back is a part of our culture, and we are honoured to have played a part in the success of the initiatives.”
The Ottawa Teddy Bear Toss, presented by The Brick, has become a celebrated annual holiday tradition in Ottawa’s sports scene, and through it, caring fans have donated an estimated 20,000 plush bears to children through local charities since 2015.
Also, an annual tradition, the Calgary Teddy Bear Toss, powered by ENMAX, was supported by thirteen sponsors, including Classic Fire + Life Safety and title sponsor ENMAX. 26,828 stuffed toys were tossed on the ice at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
